Good News for You and Me

Spry Church,

When life gets a bit crazy (know the feeling?), that makes it all the more important for us to understand there is good news. This weekend in worship we finish our series on the kingdom of God, which is God's good news for us and our world. At Spry School Street, we'll be looking at Jesus' teaching about the old and the new: "No one pours new wine into old wineskins....No, they pour new wine into new wineskins" (Mark 2:22). At Spry Pine Grove, the message will focus on the light shining in the darkness (John 1). The good news of Jesus and his kingdom is just what we need, today and every day. Join us as we worship!

A Special Introduction

And, speaking of good news: we are so excited to introduce our Director of Student Ministry, Becca Fedor White! She will be introduced in each of our in-person worship services this Sunday, and you'll get to hear a bit from her about her journey and her passion for Jesus and students. We are thrilled to welcome Becca to our staff team and our church family!

Put Books in Kids' Hands - Fall Missions Offering

To promote children’s literacy in our local schools, we will set aside $1 for every person attending worship (in person or online--we'll count online views!) on September 26th. This money will be used to buy books for children at Ore Valley, Leaders Heights, and York Township Elementary Schools. We encourage everyone to invite a friend to worship on this day. This will add to our total support and put books in the hands of students to encourage them to read at home!

Church Council Update

Spry Church Council has decided that as of September 12th, the following policy will be enacted: children and youth, along with teachers of children and youth, are expected to wear masks inside any church building. While this is not required, in humility we encourage everyone else to do so as well. We ask this in order to protect and care for the most vulnerable among us. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and faithfulness during these challenging days.

Looking forward to worship this Sunday and celebrating God's good news!

In Jesus,
