How You Can Find Peace

Dear Spry Church,

I hope you've been enjoying the fall weather. I love this time of year! The changing colors on the leaves move me to praise the God who created them to display such beauty, reflecting God's glory. There's a passage in the book of Isaiah that describes the trees themselves as praising God (they "clap their hands" in praise of God).

This Sunday in worship we'll recognize veterans in all 3 of our services. Thank you for your service to our country! If you are a veteran (or actively serving), please come; or if you know of one, extend an invitation to that person to join us as we thank those who have served or are still serving our country. We continue our series about the Lord's Prayer by focusing on the lines that deal with forgiveness: "Forgive us our sins" (or as some translations say "debts" or "transgressions," but the meaning is the same - those things that keep us from faithfully following God) "as we forgive those who sin against us." Forgiveness is such an important part of our life with the Lord and with one another. Come hear a message of hope about how we can find peace through forgiveness - peace with God and peace with others.

Now that we are well into November, we're gearing up for the holidays. Starting this Sunday we'll have our Angel Tree in the lobby. Tree ornaments or tags have the name, age, and Christmas wish from a child. Take one or more from the tree and return gifts by December 1. You can be an angel for a local child in need this Christmas.

Spry Church, thank you for being a beacon of hope for our community, spreading the light and love of Jesus to one another and those around us. It's such an honor for me to be your pastor.

See you in worship!

In Christ's love,

Ken
