Merry Christmas!

Dear Spry Church,

I hope you and your family have had a wonderful Christmas! Thank you for the cards and gifts. As I opened each one, I prayed for the sender by name. Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness. I pray for God's abundant blessings to be upon you this Christmas season and remain with you in all that lies ahead.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Candlelight Christmas Eve worship! Thank you to those who invited family and friends! A HUGE thank you to all who helped - musicians, readers, ushers, greeters, welcome center attendants, the parking team, the sound team, our amazing staff...it takes many people coming together to make that happen, and you all offered your time and energy and efforts so faithfully. Because of your generosity and hospitality, so many people got to hear the good news of great joy that's for everyone. It was a beautiful celebration of the birth of Jesus our Savior! Thank you all. I'm so proud of our church.

As we near the end of the year, here's a quick note about year-end contributions. To be deductible in 2019, contributions must be physically received at our church office by December 31, or mailed with a postmark of December 31, 2019 or earlier. You may also donate online through SpryChurch.com/give no later than 11:59pm EDT, Tuesday, December 31.

This Sunday we begin a new series, "You Are Not Alone." Life can be wonderful, but it can also be hard. No matter who we are, we all face challenges and questions. Sometimes we might wonder, "Am I the only one dealing with this? Am I alone in this struggle?" We asked hundreds of people from our community to name things that cause them fear and/or anxiety, such as loneliness, comparison or performance, aging or death, finances, and family dynamics. In this series we'll address common responses. We'll consider practical steps for working through our fears and sources of anxiety. And we'll reflect on fear and anxiety in light of the Bible and the promises of God. You can learn to live with courage and hope. Come hear the good news that you are not alone! This series begins December 22 and lasts until January 19. We hope you'll join us. It's a great opportunity to invite a friend, as we can all relate to these issues and would benefit from this series on living with courage and hope.

In Christ,

Ken
