The Countdown Begins

Dear Spry Church,

Tomorrow the countdown to Thanksgiving begins. There's so much to look forward to - the worship, the family and friends, the sports, and oh yes, the food! Of course we don't look forward to all the plans, preparations, and work involved in serving a meal for a crowd, but it's all worth it when everyone is together at the table, enjoying the feast.

In worship this Sunday we're going to gather together around the Lord's table to share in the feast Jesus has prepared for us. We'll continue our series on The Lord's Prayer with a message about the meaning of this line in the prayer Jesus teaches us: "Give us this day our daily bread." What exactly are we asking for when we pray that prayer? How does God provide it? What does that mean for your life each day and mine? Jesus gives us a wonderful promise when he says, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty" (John 6:35).

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the goodness of God!

In Christ,
