What God Wants for Your Life

September 12, 2019

Dear Spry Church,

I hope you are having a good week. I'd like to encourage you to say our memory passage daily and learn these words by heart: "If God is for us, who can be against us?...For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:31, 38-39). As I've said those words each morning this week, I have been strengthened and encouraged by this promise from God. As you say these words aloud, you'll find that same strength and encouragement. Take a moment and say them aloud right now.

Do you know you are called by God? Do you know God has a purpose for your life? This Sunday we continue our "God For Us" series by looking at how God calls us and what it means that God calls us

For each of us, part of God's call on our lives is that we would be people who serve. There are many ways to serve, and God has given each of us different gifts for service. One way to serve is to be on a leadership team at our church. Do you know someone with gifts for leadership in the church? We’re currently seeking nominations to serve on our leadership teams next year. Are you interested in serving? Do you know someone who would be excellent in these roles? Every year our Nominations Committee recommends a slate of candidates to serve on our key leadership teams: Staff Parish Relations Committee (essentially Human Resources), Trustees, Finance, Community Outreach, and others. If you know someone you think we should contact about serving on a committee, or if you are willing to be personally considered, please email office@SpryChurch.com to let us know. Please note that in most cases, as outlined in the UMC Book of Discipline, you must be a member for at least two years before serving as a full voting member on a committee.

Join us this Sunday as we explore God's call on our lives. What God wants for your life is something beautiful and good. Recite our memory passage today (see above) and claim the promise that because of Jesus, nothing can separate you from God's love. I look forward to seeing you Sunday!

In Christ,

Ken
